The contract signing between a local manufacturer and a United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based entrepreneur on Thursday indicates that locally manufactured organic skin care products will soon be available in the oil-rich country.

Davao Bioskin Tech Laboratories, Inc. represented by chief operating officer Maria Victoria Evangelista and entrepreneur Corazon Carlos, who is based in UAE, entered into a contract signing at the Bioskin office in Davao City on December 28, 2023.

Bioskin is a manufacturing company of plant-based and natural skincare and cosmetic products. It has a laboratory situated in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

The contract signifies that Carlos will exclusively retail Bioskin’s Oli products in UAE.

“In partnership with us, we will be the exclusive distributor of it in the UAE. If anyone wants to be a distributor and reseller, they come to us,” said Carlos in an interview.

Carlos said she has already sent 1,000 pieces of the products to UAE to introduce the products to the market.

“Bago lang sa UAE ang plant-based skin care products. Ang mga nakakapasok doon na ibang Filipino brands is usually puro chemical-based skin care. Medyo bago pa ito para sa mga Filipinos based in UAE kasi hindi pa sila aware sa mga ganitong skin care na all natural and plant-based,” she said.

It can be recalled that on November 22, 2023, Bioskin Tech Laboratories and Malaysian investor K.Y. Chung forged a partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Davao City for the latter to be the sole distributor of Bioskin products in Sabah.

According to Evangelista, Chung is interested in their products with coconut including the coconut papaya soap, coconut massage oil, and sunblock with coconut.

She said Chung signed for 5,000 sets per delivery for each variant of product and has a one-year contract with Bioskin.

The signing of the MOU was a result of the business matching participated by Bioskin during the Sabah International Expo 2023 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah in September this year.

Davao-based Bioskin started in 2006 patronizing all locally source materials like the coconut.

“This is our favorite material to use because we are very proud that we are able to introduce to the market the Pinoy brand and Pinoy made,” Evangelista said.

For 18 years, Bioskin is already known in Davao and help a lot of SMEs to start their own business in ways that the capital they have is affordable.

Bioskin is committed to providing 100% plant-based and cruelty-free products and manufactures them in its own production facility to ensure the highest quality and ethical standards.

All the products buy in Bioskin is also a big help to the orphanage that it is supporting, the Field of Dreams, located in Biao Guianga, Tugbok in Davao City.

“A portion of your purchase and a portion of our profit we’ll be able to share it with others,” Evangelista said.
