In eleven days of rice distribution, the City of Mati LGU has distributed a total of 53,950 bags of 10-kilo rice to all 26 barangays within the city.
The rice distribution was due to Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat’s decision to give aid to all Matinian families affected by the weeks-long heavy rainfall that resulted to widespread flooding and landslides.
Mayor Michelle said that all Matinians were affected by inclement weather conditions, in one way or another, thus the decision to appropriate P33 million for the said rice distribution.

The City of Mati LGU advised all those who were not in the list of the barangay health workers to get their share of the rice allotment to the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
