Baste, PBBM’s former aide meet in Davao City

Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte and lawyer Vic Rodriguez, the former executive secretary of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., met in Davao City on Monday evening.

A video of the mayor exchanging pleasantries with Rodriguez inside a Davao City restaurant circulated online.

During the meeting, the mayor thanked Rodriguez for good governance. No other details were given as to the purpose of the meeting.

“You were there from the start, malaking bagay sa akin yun. This is more on the advocacy and the position where we stand when it comes to governance. So, salamat,” Duterte said.

A photo of the mayor raising the hand of Rodriguez was also shared online.

Vice President Sara Duterte earlier shared that based on reports circulating in Davao City, former President Rodrigo Duterte, Davao City First District Representative Paolo Duterte, and Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte are said to be preparing to run for a national position.

In June this year, the vice president revealed that her father and two brothers will all run for Senate seats in the 2025 elections.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez was among the prominent attendees and criticized the President in the first Duterte-led Hakbang ng Maisug Prayer Rally held in Davao City in January this year.
