The City of Mati, represented by City Administrator Alan Andrada on behalf of Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat, was recognized at the 2024 Peace and Order Council (POC) and Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards for its commitment to maintaining peace and order, as well as its dedication to anti-drug programs. The awarding ceremony, organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Davao Regional Office, took place at the Apo View Hotel in Davao City.
Mati City earned a prestigious plaque in acknowledgment of its outstanding performance, achieving a score of 95.3% in the POC Functionality Audit and 95% in the ADAC Performance Audit. These high scores demonstrate Mati’s excellence in governance, especially in implementing programs aligned with peace and anti-illegal drug initiatives.
Regional Director Abdullah V. Matalam of the DILG highlighted the significant role of local government units (LGUs) like Mati in advancing national goals of public safety and community well-being. This award reflects Mati’s continuous efforts and dedication in ensuring safe and drug-free communities for its residents.
The event, which welcomed local leaders across Davao Region, emphasized the importance of transparent and accountable local governance in upholding public safety. The City of Mati’s achievement serves as a model for other LGUs in fostering a secure and healthy environment.
