No untoward incident reported in Pasko Fiesta activities: DCPO

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported that the ongoing activities of the Pasko Fiesta 2024 remain generally peaceful and normal.

DCPO spokesperson Capt. Hazel Tuazon said activities held on Thursday including Perya sa Pasko Fiesta, Siyam Ka Kadlawon (misa de gallo), and Kasadya sa Pasko Fiesta at Catalunan Grande Elementary School were secured with no untoward incidents reported.

Tuazon added that there were no significant incidents recorded on threats of terrorism, insurgency, maritime security and safety, and criminality.

“As of this report, the celebration of the Pasko Fiesta 2024 remains generally peaceful and normal,” Tuazon said.

Meanwhile, DCPO responded to unattended baggage that was left at a diner on Carlos P. Garcia Highway, Buhangin Gym, Buhangin, Davao City on Thursday which caused alarm to passersby.

Police personnel cordoned the area while the Explosive Ordnance and Canine Unit of DCPO examined the unattended baggage.

Tuazon reported that upon checking, only unused clothes, plastic plates, and assorted toys were inside the baggage.

Tuazon said recovered items were temporarily under the custody of Buhangin Police Station proper disposition.
