DSWD, DOLE 11 to mount job fair for 4Ps graduates

The regional offices of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD 11) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE 11) will hold the Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas Job Fair 2025 at Tagum City Hall atrium on February 15, 2025.

The job fair aims to provide employment opportunities to 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) beneficiaries, especially those exiting from the program.

Merlinda A. Paragamac, OIC Regional Director of DSWD 11 said on Monday that there are 3,000 targeted 4Ps beneficiaries to participate in the said fair.

Margie Cabido-Sobretodo, 4Ps Division Chief of DSWD 11, said that from 2024, there were 75,016 beneficiaries/families who graduated from the program.

“Pero naa ta’y 3,000 target beneficiaries for the fair and ang target nato is isolated lang sa Tagum and Carmen as pilot areas for the fair,” Sobretodo said during the Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Davao.

Paragamac said the job fair aims to provide projected exiting household members of the 4Ps program an opportunity to get employment or jobs offered by the internal stakeholders and partner agencies.

DOLE 11 Director lawyer Randolph Pensoy said as of Feb. 9, there were 809 vacancies and nine employers who have already signified their intentions to participate in the job fair.

The top job vacancies for locals include customer service representatives, cashiers/baggers/clerks, encoders, financial advisors, inventory specialists, and forklift operators.

Pensoy said the industries participating include administrative and support service activities, financial and insurance activities, information and communication (BPO), construction, wholesale and retail, and hospitality, while the participating establishments include malls, multipurpose cooperatives, supermarkets, events, and catering, manpower, and BPO.

“We are looking forward that there will be more vacancies offered,” Pensoy said.

The fair has three schedules and three locations. These are Laoag/Batac, San Nicolas on February 11; Iloilo City on Feb. 13; and Tagum City on Feb. 15.
