CITATIONS
The board of judges cited the victorious dailies for their outstanding qualities.
It said Edge Davao ” had lots of feature stories on the environment and even put out a supplement on Earth Day, something the national dailies did not even bother to do. With its consistent environmental coverage, it has brought green issues of global concern to the consciousness of the local people making them more aware that such issues are interconnected and something that everyone should concerned and take action even in their own small ways.”
The judges also cited Edge Davao “for its indepth and comprehensive coverage of business issues and events, and corporate and individual players in its coverage area.”
Edge Davao editor-in-chief Antonio M. Ajero said the awards serve as a tribute to very lean staff of paper led by managing editor Neilwin Joseph Bravo. Ajero also told this writer in the sidelines of the awards rites that the accolades are the results of the hard work and dedication of photo editor Lean Daval Jr., multi–awarded feature editor Henrylito D. Tacio, Leebai Ambolodto and rest of the team, including the columnists.
