The AboitizPower (AP) will hold the first ever Linemen’s Rodeo in Mindanao on Friday (July 14), from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Davao Light Technical Training Grounds in Midland Village Maa, Davao City.
AP DU EVP and COO Jaime Jose Aboitiz and guests from the city government, TESDA and DOLE are expected to grace the event.
The APDU’s Lineman’s Rodeo or Rodeolympics will be participated in by its seven business units namely Davao Light and Power Co. Inc., Visayan Electric Co., Cotabato Light and Power Co., Subic Enerzone, Balamban Enerzone, Mactan Enerzone and Lima Enerzone.
DLPC is the event’s host.
The event will showcase the talents of the APDU linemen while demonstrating excellence in safety, skills and knowledge in their field.
The Lineman’s Rodeo is also AP’s way of recognizing the contribution of its linemen in its business, the AboitizPower Distribution Utilities holds the 1st Lineman’s Rodeo.
The Rodeolympics is also expected to foster camaraderie and to benchmark skills among linemen across the APDU.
Ultimately, through the Rodeolympics, the APDU hopes to encourage its linemen to apply the standard work procedures at all times and to equip themselves with the necessary skills and tools in their line of work.
The Distribution Group of the AboitizPower has been distributing electric service to its customers across the Philippines for more than 70 years.
Today, the country’s growing economy entailed not only an increased demand for power but also for linemen, who will carry out construction of new transmission and distribution lines and later on the maintenance of these lines.
