The first ever Kadayawan FIDE-Rated Rapid Chess Open will be staged on August 12-13 at the Eskina inside the sprawling Lanang Business Park.
Organizer James Infiesto said the two-day multi-division tournament sponsored by the City Government of Davao will dangle a whopping P20,000 and trophy to the champion. The second placer will go home with P10,000 and a trophy while the third placer will get P5,000 and trophy.
The rest of the Top 10 will receive P2,500 and trophy for fourth, P1,500 and trophy for fifth and P1,000 and medals for the 6th to 10th placers.
Special awards will be given to Top Kiddie Player for players aged 12 years old and below where P1,000 and a medal goes to the first placer P750 and medal for second placer and P500 and medal for third placer.
The Top Junior Player (aged 20 years old and below) will get P1,500 and medal for first, P1,000 and medal for second and P500 and medal for third. The Top Female Player division will likewise offer the same prizes.
The other special awards are Top PWD — P1,000 and medal, Top Senior — P1,000 and medal, Top Employee — P1,000 and medal, Top Executive — P1,000 and medal.
Time Control is set at 15 mins 10 secs inc per player. The tournament will be a seven-round Swiss System format with FIDE Laws of Chess governing.
Registration fee is set at P300.
