Veteran road race queen Judelyn Miranda, Diana Mae Memoracion and Arlan Arbois came up with classic performance to regain their places on the podium on Sunday’s 41st National Milo Marathon Davao Leg.

Miranda ran in vintage form to rule the 21-kilometer women’s race with a fast time of 1:32.07 leaving behind Vivian Avergonzado (1:41.38), Lalaine Payricio (1:42.22) and Emely Avergonzado (1:47.07), who second to fourth in that order.

Miranda’s win brought her record to 7 local race titles–four in Davao and three in Butuan City.

The reigning champion Memoracion of Emar Human and Environmental College (EHEC) was also dominant in keeping her 10k title for the fourth time while Arbois of Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) also retained his 10k crown in the race that attracted some 9,800 runners.

The only new champion was Richiel Languido of Bukidnon who exploited the absence of 21k ruler Sonny Wagdos. Languido negotited the distance at 1:15.14 besting Davao’s Michael Echalico (1:18.29), Arnie Macañeras of Panabao Runners Club (PRC) (1:20.19) and Edwin Zapanta (1:26.24).

Memoracion timed 43 minutes, 25 seconds in  the treacherous up and down course. Crisselyn Jaro (47:37) and Joylyn Quirante (56:54) of the 10th Infantry Division (ID), and Alemie Tenajora (58:09) brought up the second to third runner-up places.

The former 21-K champion Arbois clocked 34:50 to outrun Dante Baay of South Cotabato (35:17), Germar Marcelo (35:49) and fellow Spectrum Runners bet Agustin Ychon (35:51).

In other races, Andrea Deguia ruled the 5-K women’s event in 17:20, outclassing Julia Laranjo and Analyn Perales who timed 19:00 and 19:29. Daryl Mark timed 14:18 to rule the men’s 5k race over Fritz Lantaco (14:35) and Reymark Sorianosos (14:42).

The top three finishers in the women’s 3k class were Danica Ambal (13:45), Crisanto Jay Bondoc (14:30), Gernabel Tabog (15:04) and Banilyn Nagal (15:17) while Aaron Gumban (11:06), Jerick Juyo (11:41) and Dominic Jhon Gorre (11:53) were the top three in the men’s race.
