It seems like nothing will ever stop the rampaging Davao City Durians on their way to their fourth-straight Palarong Pambansa appearance.
The host city just finished the elimination round without any major setbacks, wrecking every team standing their way.
On Thursday , the three-time defending champion booked a ticket to the semifinals at the expense of Panabo City 142-64, in the ongoing secondary basketball boys of the Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) 2019 held at the University of Southeastern Philippines (Usep) Gym.
Finishing each game with a hundred points that goes with a double digit lead is not anymore new in this competition which involves the Durians.
What’s new was it’s not anymore Vince Petdeo Cuajao led the scoring.
Davao Jones Academy (DJA) key player Askiah Echavia led the charge, drilling in 23 points to lead Davao City in a dominant conquest.
Cuajao, who has been very consistent since day one, added 16 points.
Mounting a formidable 75-34 lead at the half, the Durians, coached by Nestor Sorrosa and Roger Rabago, never looked back.
But until how long will this dominance last? Seeing the next round of the biggest conclave for secondary and elementary athletes gets a little much tougher.
The question isn’t whose going to emerge champion here but will the Davao City improved its silver medal last year in the Palarong Pambansa.
