Parks set to make PBA debut

Bobby Parks Jr. will see action for the first time in a PBA uniform on May 19.

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. is expected to make his PBA debut with Blackwater in the Commissioner’s Cup opener on May 19 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The schedule released by the league Tuesday pits the Elite against the Meralco Bolts in the first game of the doubleheader. The Bolts are being coached by Norman Black, Parks’ godfather.

The Elite and Bolts face off at 4:30 p.m.

Incidentally, Parks had been linked to a trade to Meralco early this year.

Blackwater management has made it clear it does not intend to trade their second pick in last year’s draft.

Parks, winner of three straight ABL MVPs, signed a one-year contract with the Elite after the Alab Pilipinas campaign ended.

Alaska, meanwhile, faces Columbian in the second game of the Commissioner’s Cup opener at 6:45 p.m.
