Nepomuceno, Lingad takes early lead in 15th Eaglemasters

A golfer blasts out of the bunker during the first day of the 15th Eaglemasters Golf Tournament.
Micoh Gabriel Nepomuceno and Relly Lingad opened their respective bids in the 15th Eaglemasters Golf Tournament with one-point leads with still plenty of battle left in this tri-course competition that opened on Thursday.
With heavy rains soaking the fairways, the first round of the annual golf tournament turned out to be a test of patience and course management. Nepomuceno, a two-handicapper, fired 27 points at the South Pacific Golf and Country Club course to lead the Individual gross scoreboard. Lingad, meantime, carded 32 points on top of a 9 handicap to lead the Individual Net race while playing at Rancho Palos Verdes.
Dean Martir trail Nepomuceno close with 26 points in a tie with Emmanuel Gerard Santos and Randy Arevalo. Lingad is at fifth place in the gross division.
Arevalo, a six handicapper, closely trailed Lingad in the net division with 31 points while Angelio Bidding is a point behind at 30.
