At first look, nobody believed an iconic building with an architectural masterstroke could even come to reality.
There were doubters. Even so, when the pandemic hit.
We’re talking about the prettiest skyscraper in Davao City today–the Aeon Towers.
Built by the FTC Group of Companies and now run by the Aeon Luxe Properties Inc., the 33-level tower that reminds everyone of Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, is now up and welcoming its residents.
“We made it despite the challenges. It’s a dream come true not just for us but for Dabawenyos as well to have something like this they can be proud of,” said ALPI President and CEO Ian Y. Cruz.
The construction of the glass-covered Aeon Towers went through a lot of hurdles including questions on its design and the flight path issues. There were also those who cast doubts on its financial strength given the magnitude of the project.
All that have been swept literally under the rug and look now, Aeon Towers is flying its brand atop Davao’s skyscape.
Reinventing
Aeon Towers reinvented itself by making available its units for staycations and rentals. This proved to be a magical move on the part of management as the pandemic hit the real estate industry too hard that many have folded up or ceased construction.
Aeon Towers held its fort during the heath crisis and true enough, it was able to complete the critical stages of the project.
While others reeled from the pandemic’s punches, Aeon Towers slowly opened itself to locators, turned more units to owners and aggressively pressed on the rental market.
The staycation offer from Aeon Towers provided clients with the most exhilarating view they can get from a staycation at a price within reach.

“We learned a lot from the pandemic. It was a window of opportunity and we won’t forget it because it only toughened us,” said Cruz.
Indeed, adversity, brings out the best in business.
