The NTF-ELCAC was established through Executive Order 70 series of 2018, assembling national government agencies (NGAs) and the private sector to aid communities in need of assistance and social development.
In a statement issued on Friday, TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña said the PRLEC is working on a proposal for the 2020 budget, amounting to PHP1.457 billion. This budget, he said, will cover 17 regions and 46 provinces, 63 Mobile Training Laboratories, 63 units of motor vehicles, and operating expenses for 63 priority areas.
The PRLEC is now focused on creating regional action plans and implementing pilot convergence projects using value chain models that address the identified areas of concern of communities.
Lapeña earlier told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) that TESDA’s new tagline, “Abot Lahat”, really aims to reach everyone, particularly its special clients.
The TESDA has been prioritizing its special clients, such as former rebels, drug surrenderers, and indigenous peoples (IPs), and conducts on-site training and assessment to reach more people.
As of July 5, a total of 1,482 former rebels, 35,864 IPs have graduated from TESDA’s skills training programs.
Other priority beneficiaries include soldiers wounded in action and their families, and soldiers who died while on-duty, and their kin. (PNA)
