Real estate giant Megaworld affirmed on Thursday their 11-hectare township project in Davao City is progressing right on track.
Harold Geronimo, senior assistant vice president and head for public relations and media affairs of Megaworld, said the Davao Park District project is on target.
“We are on track for Davao Park District. Everything that has been planned are already built. We only have 11 hectares so it would be easy to fill that up,” Geronimo told Edge Davao.
Located along the S.P. Dakudao Loop which used to be the Lanang Golf and Country Club, Davao Park District is envisioned to be Davao City’s central business district (CBD) and a major center for information technology and business process outsourcing (IT-BPO) in Mindanao.
First to rise in the township was the 15- storey Davao Finance Center designed for business process outsourcing (BPO) companies and other corporate offices.
“We already have locators and there are new locators in Davao coming in. There is one big locator BPO Manila-based to locate in Davao Finance Center,” Geronimo said.
He added that they are very careful in selecting the products that they are gonna offer there. He said a big chunk would be for the residential because there is a big demand for residential in Davao.
Recently, Suntrust Properties Inc (SPI), a wholly- owned subsidiary of property giant Megaworld topped off the first tower of One Lakeshore Drive.
One Lakeshore Drive is a four-tower development within Megaworld’s master-planned smart township development called Davao Park District. All in all, the four towers will carry 1,200 units and each tower houses 300 units. Each tower has a total of 19 floors with ground floor for commercial component, two floors (one above the commercial and basement) are for the parking, and the 16 floors for residential.
Geronimo said they are opening the commercial area of the Davao Park District in the next two years.
The medical component of the project, Lanang Premier Doctors Hospital Inc., is also looking at the possibility to do the soft opening this year.
