The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has collected P931.046 billion in revenues in 2024, higher than its 2023 collection of P874.166 billion.
The BOC said its full-year 2024 revenue collection was achieved “despite the lower 2024 baseline due to the impact of tariff reduction in rice and selected electric vehicles, and deferment of priority reforms such as excise tax on pick-ups under the Capital Market Promotion Efficiency Act.”
It added that several ports, such as Legazpi, Tacloban, Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Clark, and Cagayan De Oro, exceeded their revenue targets for the year.
The BOC also generated an additional P2.710 billion in revenue through post-clearance audits and voluntary disclosure applications.
Moreover, the bureau said its collection from the Tax Expenditure Fund from government importations reached P13.238 billion.
The Customs said its collection directly contributes to funding vital public services of the Marcos administration.
ePay
In 2024, the BOC said it introduced various policies and initiatives to streamline payment processes and improve stakeholder experience.
“Among these is the Electronic Payment Portal System (ePay), implemented through Customs Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 06-2024, which enables stakeholders to pay customs duties, taxes, and other fees online, minimizing physical transactions and enhancing efficiency,” it said.
“Strategic partnerships further strengthened the BOC’s payment systems. The BOC formalized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with LandBank of the Philippines to utilize the Link.BizPortal for digital payment processing,” added the BOC.
The BOC said its renewed partnership with Maya Philippines Inc. also integrated Maya’s payment platform into BOC operations, enabling seamless transactions through online channels, Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, and Smart Padala centers.
“Through these efforts, the BOC continues to strengthen its role in promoting economic stability and supporting the Philippines’ growth, ensuring that customs operations remain efficient, transparent, and responsive to national needs,” the Customs said.
