Now that Peter Joemel Advoncula has recanted his statements accusing the Duterte family and its allies of involvement in a large scale illegal drugs syndicate, will those from the opposition proposing for a probe continue to push on with it?

This is getting quite interesting.

Advincula, who introduced himself as the ‘Bikoy’ in the controversial video “Ang Totoong Narcolist” which tagged the Duterte family–presidential son Paolo, son-in-law Atty. Manases Carpio and top aide Christopher “Bong” Go–to the illegal drugs operations in the country, himself recanted his statements and admitted they were all lies made to bring down President Rodrigo Duterte and install opposition leader and Vice President Leni Robredo.

The supposed hooded confessor ‘Bikoy’ sang a different tune on Thursday after he turned himself up voluntarily to the police. He said the opposition Liberal Party orchestrated the plan called “Project Sodoma.”

The latest twist sent shockwaves to many but for those accused in the video, they were not. Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Congressman-elect Paolo Duterte and Senator-elect Go all felt vindicated and said they were not surprised by the revelations. They expected it.

Earlier, opposition Senators led by Sen. Franklin Drilon pushed for an all-out inquiry in the Senate. Now that their own party and their allied Sen. Antonio Trillanes, Sen. Risa Honteveros and Vice President Robredo were implicated in the Advincula recantation, will they still pursue the probe vigorously?

If indeed the opposition had no hand in the ‘Bikoy’ accusations, they must continue to pursue with the same enthusiasm the inquiry in the Senate.
