Despite the revocation of corporate registration of the controversial Kapa Community Ministry after having found to have engaged in fraudulent investment-taking activities, it doesn’t look like we have seen the last days of scammers.
Recently, the Davao City Anti-Scam Unit (CASU) warned the public against a couple from Sasa in Davao City for scamming. At least 20 individuals have filed a complaint at the CASU.
The scheme is nothing new. They solicit money and promised a double return after a week and so on. Until they banish to thin air.
One complainant said they lost a hefty amount worth P10 million.
People are just too gullible. As if the recent revocation of the corporate registration of Kapa-Community Ministry International by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is not proof enough that investment schemes are fraud.
In Cagayan de Oro, the SEC also warned the public of the proliferation of at least 28 groups and individuals engaged in fraudulent investment schemes. The SEC advised the public to be cautious in investing in the following entities – Masa Mart Business OPC, Mers Business Center, Royal O Financial Consultancy Services, Bitaccelerate or Bitaccelerateproject.com, Bitexpress Security and Commodity Contracts Brokerage; Solmax Global Ltd., Igniter 100, Royal O Consultancy Services OPC, IX Trade or IXTrade, Wonkacash or Wonka Cash App Financial Consultancy Services, Learn and Earn Online, 247 Cryptotrading, FX Cryptotrade Online, Iwatch.PH Corp., Seven Stag International OPC, RGS World Marketing Corp., Yumboss Corp.; Philhelp Administration of Financial Marketing, Jamsmart, Tradexpert or Tradexpert Technology Information Services, Align Assets, RL Aggregates and Diversified Lending Group Inc., Investrade Marketing or Investrade Digital Marketing Services, Cash FX or Cash FX Group of CFX, Doors Opportunity Online (DOO) or Door Opportunity Digital Marketing Services, and Hedge Trading.
At any cost, scammers proliferate with the thought of taking advantage of the pandemic. It is for the public to be fully aware not to fall into the trap.
