Before the year ends, another first will wow local residents and visitors in Davao City. It is the five story gallery of the National Museum of the Philippines, now 75 percent completed, which will open in December. The tall structure will cost P200 million.
According to Museo Dabawenyo head Winnie Rose G. Bulig, it is the first ever regional museum of the NMP.
The cost of construction is jointly shouldered by the NMP and the Office of the President.
Located within the People’s Park compound, Ms Bulig said the gallery will showcase art works of famous visual artists and the histories of the Philippines, Mindanao and Davao.
In her State of the City Address last week, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said the city is honored to be host of the regional museum
There is no doubt that the museum will be another landmark that Dabawenyos will be mighty proud of.
