Love turns deadly in GMA Network’s newest Afternoon Prime series

Beginning, September 10, GMA Network proudly introduces a new spectacle on its top-rating Afternoon Prime line-up, Ika-5 Utos.

Ika-5 Utos delves on a harrowing hazing incident that led to the death of a dear son, uncovering old wounds between three mothers and their respective families. Its story is one of deep passion, lust, and heartbreak—all of which could poison a soul, evidently killing someone.

Headlining the intriguing series are three families:

The Lorenzo family led by respected actress Ms. Jean Garcia as Eloisa, a devoted wife and a doting mother; versatile actor Neil Ryan Sese as Randy, Eloisa’s philandering husband; multi-talented Kapuso star Jeric Gonzales as Brix, Eloisa’s loving son and a law student who is also a frat member.

The Buenaventura family composed of Tonton Gutierrez as Emil, a humble college professor and a loving husband. Years before his marriage, he fell in love with Eloisa; Valerie Concepcion as Clarisse, Emil’s selfish and ambitious wife who works as an interior designer. She is secretly jealous of Eloisa; Migo Adecer as Francis, Emil and Clarisse’s middle child who is kind and obedient; Klea Pineda as Candy, the youngest daughter of Clarisse and Emil who falls for Brix (Jeric).

The Manupil family includes returning Kapuso Ms. Gelli de Belen as Kelly, a social climber who in turn is envious of Clarisse’s upscale lifestyle; Jake Vargas as Carlo, the son of Kelly who is spoiled, a natural player and tends to have a violent streak; Inah de Belen as Joanna, Carlo’s girlfriend and a nursing student raised in a poor family; Antonio Aquitania as Benjie, Kelly’s laidback husband and a happy-go-lucky office employee.

Ika-5 Utos is all set to intrigue viewers on the varied degrees of emotions—how lust can kill lovers, how passion can ruin friendships, and how love can turn from deep to deadly.

The series is under the helm of notable Kapuso director and seasoned actress Laurice Guillen, the same brilliant mind behind GMA’s highest-rating daytime drama, Ika-6 Na Utos.

Behind this engrossing drama is the creative team composed of Creative director Roy Iglesias; Concept creator Suzette Doctolero; Headwriter RJ Nuevas; Writers Christine Novicio, Emerson Jake Somera; Brainstormers Gilda Olvidado-Marcelino, El Ortizluis, Jeofferson Ting.

The program is another original creation of the GMA Drama group under the supervision of Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable; Vice President for Drama Redgie Acuña-Magno; Assistant Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy; and Senior Program Manager Ali Nokom Dedicatoria.

Don’t miss Ika-5 Utos beginning September 10, Mondays to Fridays, after Eat Bulaga on GMA Afternoon Prime.
