THE PINK LEAGUE: LEAGUE OF FIGHTERS

Pink is the bravest color – and the association has been highly exclusive to women for the longest time.

Last October 19, the concept proved to be outdated. This is especially true in battling against a dreadful disease that has taken the lives of women and men all over the world.

On its third year, Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao brings “The Pink League”, a charity event in line with the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This time around, the advocacy reached an extensive partner as men showed their support in the cause by dropping the masculine image and “pink up”.

The hotel-resort welcomed a new partner advocate — the Davao Occidental Tigers teamed up and joined in the cause. These beautiful men, together with the Province of Davao Occidental, brought the element of sports and style as everyone in attendance revved up to witness a fashion show that proudly takes a stand for the breast cancer movement and of course,  the women in their lives.

Joining the Tigers are the home players of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) from different teams in the country — Mandaluyong El Tigre, Quezon City Capitals and the Pasay Voyagers.

It thrills me to see that one color can unite us all into playing a part in social responsibility,” says Hotel Manager Bryan Lasala.

Claudine Bautista, Davao Occidental Tigers team owner, calls for everyone’s supports in this cause. “Along with our Pink Fighters, let us show our love and care in our respective communities by simply supporting this advocacy of breast cancer awareness,” the Bautista said.

Being a sportswoman herself, the eldest daughter of Gov. Claude Bautista pledges continuous support to this advocacy. “We are more than just basketball, we are a serious player to this campaign,” she voiced.
