The recently concluded Taiwan Expo 2019 in Davao City brought Taiwanese companies seeking to forge business collaboration with their Dabawenyo counterparts.
Organised by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the expo showcases the best Taiwanese products and innovations and opens the doors of opportunity for inter-country trade.
With over 100 Taiwan exhibitors last November 8 to 9 at the Davao leg of the expo ranging from product categories as diverse as robotics, aquaculture, medical tourism and beauty products, there was one booth which took thee event by storm and that is the Bubble Tea Pavilion.
As the birth place of bubble tea, Taiwan is home to hundreds of different bubble tea brands and dominates the global industry from the creation of the tapioca peals, tea production, and production of other associated products such as cheese foam, jelly crystals, and even cake-flavored cream.
Bubble tea talks introduced Dabawenyo businessmen to the economy of Taiwan’s bubble tea industry while the Bubble Tea Pavilion showcased the different participating brands’ innovation and creativity. The long queues of Dabawenyos eager to try new bubble tea flavours like Mr. Sun’s bubble tea with fruit flavoured pearls or their green tea with Heineken beer showed how the city’s urbanites love bubble tea.
The Bubble Tea Pavilion also had milk tea powder and tea leaf suppliers for those who have a keen eye on creating their own Filipino-style bubble tea business. The ideas are endless and I look forward to experiencing more innovative bubble tea creations in the near future thanks to the Taiwan Expo 2019.
