With a grandiose Christmas tree lighting affair, Discovery Samal sure knows how to deliver it big.
With the theme, “An Enthralling Tale with the Nutcrackers,” the five-star resort transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland with its enchanting Christmas tree decked with nutcrackers, miniature drums, an assortment of ornaments and shimming fairy lights.
The occasion kickstarted the resort’s month-long yuletide celebration.
The backdrop cannot be better than the picturesque hue of Samal’s sunset.
As the glorious sun started to set, guests were welcomed with Christmas tunes by the internationally renowned University of Mindanao Chorale and performances by Sugar Plum Fairy and Russian Dance by En Avant Dance and Arts Centre followed by Alvin Go’s soothing live saxophone number.
Truly Christmas is sharing as the event was highlighted with the resort’s pledge of partnership commitment to its official beneficiary, the Our Lady of Victory Training Center—a home for disabled individuals.
General Manager Stanley Lau said, “Discovery Samal will continue to strive to make a positive impact in everyone’s life. This Christmas, may we continue to remember the true essence of this celebration and be an instrument to spread its magic.”
The night, which was graced by the owner, Maridol Gonzalez; Discovery Hospitality Corporation president Jose Parreno; Discovery Samal general manager Stanley Lau; IGACOS Mayor Al David Uy and Tourism Davao Region director Tanya Rabat-Tan, was capped by a sumptuous dinner of festive menu curated by the resort’s culinary team headed by Executive Chef Daniel Rayos.
Indeed, it was a night to be cherished as it captured the true essence of the joyous time of the year.
