With hearts full of gratitude and a commitment to sharing blessings, homegrown and wholly owned Filipino BPO company 611 celebrated its annual Christmas lighting ceremony last month uniting employees, families, and the community in a meaningful celebration of hope, faith, and togetherness.
William Wijangco, Chief Operating Officer of 611, opened the evening with motivational remarks, sharing how blessed 611 has been this year, including being honored at the Innovation Summit 2024, hosted by the Davao City Chamber of Commerce IT-BPM.
The company proudly received two prestigious awards: Best in Employee Engagement and Fastest Growing Local IT, a testament to 611’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and people-centered growth.
This year’s theme, “Blessed to Be a Blessing,” was evident throughout the evening.
In her inspiring message, Careen Bian, the Vice President of 611 inspired everyone with a powerful message.
“Christmas reminds us that we are not only here to succeed but to be a blessing to those around us. Each light represents the hope, gratitude, and joy that we carry within us as individuals and as a company,” she said
The event also featured moving testimonials from employees who shared how their lives have been transformed by 611.
“I came here looking for a job, but I found something much greater—a home, a family, and a place where I can grow,” said one employee.
Another employee added, “611 not only taught me how to strive despite challenges but also to grow professionally and personally. This is where I truly found my purpose.”
The company’s remarkable journey was also highlighted during the event.
As the largest homegrown and wholly owned Filipino BPO in the city, 611 has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 2005 with just 20 seats. Now boasting a headcount of 5,000, the company continues to uphold its vision of transforming lives and communities through Filipino resilience, hospitality, and world-class service.
The evening concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from the Chairperson, Joji Ilagan Bian who invited everyone to raise their glasses for a toast.
“Like the star that guided the Wise Men to the manger, may your light guide others to hope, faith, and love. Let us celebrate this season with gratitude for the blessings we have received and a renewed commitment to being a blessing to others. Cheers to the 611 family, to the hope we bring, and to the light we share,” Bian said.
As the lights illuminated the night, they served as a symbol of 611’s mission to be a channel of light and positivity, reflecting not only the season’s joy but also the company’s deep commitment to transforming lives.
