The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) will intensify its Oplan Bulabog’ in the city to prevent any terrorism threat to Dabawenyos. This was bared by DCPO spokesperson Senior Insp. Maria Teresita Gaspan.
“Ginapalapdan nato karon ang maong kampanya considering sa pagkamatay sa mga ISIS inspired leaders mamahimong mo take advantage ang kalaban (We intensify this campaign considering the deaths of two ISIS inspired leaders),” she said.
Gaspan said the sympathizers of this group might create atrocities in the city that can cause harm to the public. She said the DCPO will make this campaign regular but she did not reveal how many time they are going to conduct it.
“Walay pattern, kay kung akong i-announce ma pattern na mi (I will not reveal in what basis we will operate because if I announce it, people might get a pattern of our operation),” she said.
She said their focus shift into this campaign since the war on drugs has been already removed from their agency. “Considering that the campaign against illegal drugs was removed to us, the weight of our workload has also lessen,” she said. She said that the campaign will also include monitoring of overstaying foreign nationals in the city.
“We will coordinate with the Bureau of Immigration to get the profile of a certain foreign national who will commit a crime here,” she said. Gaspan said in their nine operations there were many wanted persons arrested.
In the latest Oplan Bulabog, there were three wanted persons arrested identified as Jimmy Orcullo who is charged for theft, Saldy Ipanag for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9262 Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children and Arnel Tenava for violation of City Ordinance City Ordinance No. 0367-12.
Oplan Bulabog is an anti-criminality and anti-terroism campaign of DCPO where operatives conduct profiling to barangays being tagged as criminal hotbed.
