Regional operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a businessman in an entrapment operation at Sitio Cawacawa, Catalunan Pequeño in Davao City on Sunday morning.
PDEA 11 officer-in-charge Naravy D. Duquiatan identified the suspect as Jemuel N. Endo, 49 years old, a resident of the said place.
Duquiatan said Endo was arrested for distribution of a sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochlorideknown as shabu to a lady PDEA agent around 7:00 a.m. of November 12.
She said that the suspect operates using the “swap-lat” modus operandi, with the suspect providing illegal drugs to a female drug user in exchange for sex.
“Naa siya’y friends nga mga babae nga naga-adto sa iyaha og ingon ana ang pag-dispense sa illegal drugs (He has girl friends that goes to her in exchange of illegal drugs and that the style how they dispense it), ” she said.
Duquiatan said that Endo is ‘newly identified’ drug personality since the reports appeared few months ago that the suspect is involved in illegal drugs.
“We conducted surveillance on the suspect for several months before we arrested him on Sunday,” she said.
Upon search during the operation, PDEA 11 agents recovered from the possession of the suspect four medium sachets of shabu placed inside empty 3 in1 coffee packs with an estimated weight of 30 grams and with a value of P360,000.
Aside from the illegal drugs, a caliber .45 pistol and a fragmentation grenade were recovered from the suspect.
Endo is facing charges before the City Prosecution Office for violations of sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
