The Davao City government will provide technical assistance on livelihood projects for the people in Marawi City.
Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio bared in a press briefing on Monday morning, the city gave a proposal letter along to Mayor Majul Gandamra with regards to budgeting and planning on the creation of livelihood programs, , during the ceremonial turn-over of P5 million assistance to the area last week.
“Specifically, kanang pahulam gani sa mga livelihood groups. Duna tay nindot nga models ana diri sa Davao City (the loan the will be given to the livelihood groups. We have good models here in Davao City),” she said.
Duterte-Carpio said the city is willing to provide the ‘technical know-how’ to the city government of Marawi.
“We offered technical assistance to them if they want us to share our know-how on how they will use the money but it will depend on them on how they will spend the money and donations given to them,” she said.
She said the program proposal might pattern on the standards of City Cooperative Office given to cooperatives.
“It’s a best practice coop projects in Davao City and it is already recognized nationally,” she said.
The mayor said the Marawi City government could also duplicate the Mag-Negosyo ta Day project of the city which she considered as a ‘very good livelihood project.’
