Police Regional Director C/Supt Manuel Gaerlan has confirmed on Wednesday that the two suspects behind the murder of PO3 Wilfredo Garol at Sitio Luman, Barangay New Valencia Tugbok District on Monday morning are members of the rebel New People’s Army.
“Our intelligence report they are members and hitman of the communist New People’s Army,” said Gaerlan at the sidelines of the turn-over ceremony of the Eastern Mindanao Command.
He said this based on the description given by witnesses, adding that they still do not have the real names of the suspects except for their aliases.
He said that “Aside from dropping off his wife to her work place ay nag magandang loob pa po dito sa dalawang suspect na naki-sakay, being a public servant he agreed to ferry this two men and then dun binaril si PO3 Garol.”
Garol sustained eight gunshot wounds, as indicated by the results of the autopsy conducted on his body leading to his death.
