The Davao City’s Business Permit and Licensing Division of the City Mayor’s Offic, or simply Business Bureau, has transferred its one-stop shop (business permit renewal ccnter) to the Davao City Receation Center, also called Almendras Gym, from its former location at the Kadayawan Hall in NCCC Mall of Davao which was burnt to the ground due to a fire last December 23.
Lawyer Marissa Marasigan-Torentera, head of the business bureau, announced the transfer starting yesterday, saying most services rendered in the burnt location will be available in the new site at the DCRC.
Torentera however said those who will renew their health permits can proceed to Felcris Centrale located at Quimpo Boulevard just a few meters away from DCRC instead of at City Health Office because it is more convenient to get it from Centrale.
Renewal of permits is completed within just a day. Last day for renewal of permits is January 20th. However, application for business permit by new businesses is accepted the whole year. Earlier the business bureau head told reporters aa total of 41, 164 permits of existing establishments are expected during the period. She said that while a number of old establishments will apply for retirement or stoppage of business but they will be replaced by about 6,000 new applicants this year. She said an increase o about 10 percent in the number of new business establishment is expected every year in Davao City.
She reminded applicants that documentary requirements for renewal are Barangay Clearance and Income Tax Returns.
“Additional documentary requirements as set by the Revenue Code of Davao are previous Mayor’s Permit, previous receipts of payments, notarized List of Employees, Community Tax Certificate, Fire Safety Inspection Certificate, Special Power of Attorney (SPA) for Single Proprietorship, Board/Partnership Resolution, Secretary’s Certificate for other types of organizations,” she said.
She said representatives from different regulatory offices involved in the processing of the renewal of the business permits will man the one-stop shop.
She also reminded the government workers to observe the “No noon break” policy under the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007.
The one-stop shop schedule started yesterday with extended office hours on selected dates (January 3-6, January 9-13, January 16-19) and ends January 20 from 8 am to 12 midnight at the SP building. The last day of renewal at the DCRC will close at 10 pm.
