Special Investigation Task Group will be formed to focus on the case of the shooting incident which victimized a Davao-based lawyer.
On press conference on Thursday at Davao City Police Office, regional director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 11, Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales told the media that this SITG will be led by DCPO.
“We will create SITG to have a swift investigation of this case,” Morales said.
He said that they are looking into all the previous clients and cases of the lawyer in order to shed more light in the case.
Police officers are also validating the information they received from a source that the attempt might be because of rivalry in business firm which the lawyer represents.
“Allegedly the victim of the shooting incident on Wednesday is one of the lawyers of a company, which made him one of the targets of business rivalry. Although we still do not have clear evidences to support the claim, but in theory there is parcel of land for sale involving a big amount of money,” he said.
Marcelo said that the victim did not receive any threats prior the incident.
The attempt shooting of Wilmer Q.Donasco, a resident of Block 15 Lot3 Dafodel St. La Vista Monte Matina, Davao City transpired at Candellaria St. Ecoland Davao City on Wednesday happened two days after the killing of lawyer Connie Villamor in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
He said that they are also looking into the connection of both cases but as of the moment they cannot say that both are connected because they still do not have evidences to support the theory.
