The number of politicians filing their certificate of candidacies came in trickles on Tuesday.
On the fourth day of filing, only three independent candidates filed their COCs for city councilor for the first district, namely Jessica M. Bonguyan, Teofilo Guino-o and Onnie Alfaro.
“The choice is up to the people,” said Guino-o. Only Ernesto Gerodias filed for the position of city councilor for the third congressional district.
In the first district, Rex M. Labis and Susan Uyanguren filed their COCs for the congressional seat. Labis’s platform is focused in education while that of Uyanguren is focused in education and family planning.
According to Jerry T. Mujal, Election Officer IV, they were expecting the candidacy of independent politicians.
He said they were still waiting for a candidate who will aspire for the vice-mayoral seat.
“Nobody has filed for the position of vice-mayor for now. Somebody will probably file for the position because it is next to impossible if no one,” Mujal said.
