The City Government of Davao has collected a total of P122.8 million from operations of all city-owned enterprises as of August this year.
Maribeth Lumactod, chief of the City Economic Enterprise (CEE), said the city-owned enterprises are the slaughterhouses, public markets, Pasalubong Center, Sta. Ana Port, public cemeteries, Davao City Recreation Center (DCRC), and Magsaysay Park.
Fees collected from public markets reached P82.1 million which topped all other city enterprises, records showed.
According to Lumactod, the city has a total of eight public markets under its management — Agdao, Bankerohan, Toril, Mintal, Calinan, Tibungco, Bunawan, and Lasang
The CEE collected P248, 975 for certification and clearance for the eight public markets.
The cemeteries reported the lowest income, only P7.2 million, registering a reduction compared to August last year, which reached P12.5 million.
Among the six other business enterprises, the Night Market along Roxas had the biggest remittance amounting to P7.4 million, while Candelaria Street Ecoland had the lowest remittance of only P11, 435.
The slaughterhouses earned P18.8 million. higher than the collection in the same period last year of P1.8 million.
Meanwhile, the city government collected a total of P2 million from DCRC; P1 million from Pasalubong Center; P1.7 million from Sta. Ana Port and P465, 910.67 from Magsaysay Park.
