The city government of Davao will monitor the areas near cemeteries where sidewalk vendors are expected to converge for the upcoming All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on November 1 and 2.

Paul Bermejo, ASU chief, said ASU members will make sure that sidewalks are free from vendors and vendors will be place in areas where they will not be obstruct the traffic and pedestrian crossings.
“I’m sure that the vendors have already prepared their stalls at this time, so we will make sure that the structures they built will give way to those who will be visiting their loved ones in the cemetery,” said Bermejo.
He added that they have created a quick response team to monitor cemeteries.
Bermejo emphasized that vendors are not prohibited from operating in cemeteries, but there will be designated areas for them, where they can sell their goods without blocking roads.
“We understand that it is their means of living, but we appeal to them not to obstruct the roads,” he said.
Bermejo, appeal to vendors to also help in maintaining the cleanliness of the cemeteries by picking up garbage around their respective stalls.
