The Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) is now ready to cater to passengers traveling to their provinces for the observance of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, starting October 31to November 2.
Aisa Usop, DCOTT head, told reporters on Thursday during Ispeak media forum that her office is expecting an increase of passengers by 30 to 40 percent.
“This year’s Undas, we expect trips to increase to up to 750 to 800 in a day,” Usoph said, mentioning that each trip has at least 50 passengers.
Usop added that they are expecting more than 1,200 bus trips as passengers are expected to come to the terminal until November 3 to 4.
On security concerns, DCOTT will be monitored by civil service units, guards in gates, and personnel from Task Force Davao as well as K9 units and at least 21 CCTV cameras are also installed in the terminal compound.
She urged passengers to follow the rules of the DCOTT like maintaining order during inspection of bags and ensuring that pets, endangered animals and plants they’ll bring have proper permits from concerned agencies.
To avoid inconvenience for those rushing to their trips, Usop advised passengers not to bring bladed weapons and illegal items, including endangered animals.
She added that those who are not going to the DCOTT are advised to go to legal van terminals located at Gaisano Mall of Davao, Victoria Plaza Mall, Tulip Drive, and SM City Davao.
