Police investigators in Tagum City remain clueless on the motive behind the killing of a jobless man who was shot dead while in the company of his mother in Barangay Magugpo South this city on Monday.
Police identified the victim as one SenenVillaceran, 38, with live-in partner, and a resident of Union Village, Brgy. Mankilam, Tagum City who sustained gunshot wounds on his left wrist and chest.
He was declared dead on the spot by Dr. Arnel R Florendo, city health officer.
According to investigator PO2 Glenville D. Siapo, the incident occurred near the City Health Office and by chance, Dr. Florendo was among the first to respond.
Investigation revealed that the victim was with his mother , one Susana Villaceran, 66, business woman and resident of the same place as is her son.
Siapo revelaed that the mother hired her son to be her driver.
While the victim was about to park the vehicle in front of the JAS Real Estate Services where his mother holds office, two unidentified men onboard a motorcycle arrived. The back rider of the motorcycle then shot the victim several times.
After the incident, the suspects fled towards Barangay San Miguel.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) personnel of Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO) led by PI Jade Ryan P Bajade recovered seven fired cartridge cases and two fired bullets all believed to be from a .45 caliber pistol.
They also recovered from the body of the victim one unit of Gloc 23.40 caliber pistol with serial number AAFW 482 inserted with one magazine loaded with 11 live ammunitions, Black Jordan inside holster, and one alleged improvised glass tooter.
The suspects and motive of the crime is yet to be established by the investigators. Bajade said that as of now there are many angles that they are looking into like business and personal angles.
All pieces of evidence are now with the SOCO team, while the vehicle is now under in the custody of DNPPO. The body of the victim was brought to Rubio Funeral Services, Rabe, Brgy. Visayan Village, Tagum City.
