POWERHOUSE  AJR files COC for congressman, brod Rodney for Governor

The Hugpong ng Pagbago, in a bid to bring back unity and to speed up growth of Davao del Norte, fielded on Monday the Del Rosario brothers, incumbent Gov. Anthony del Rosario and Rodolfo del ‘Rodney’ del Rosario, to run as 1st district congressman and provincial governor, respectively.

Octagenarian and 15-year Gov.Rodolfo del Rosario, Sr. announced this formally before supporters in Tagum City, adding he will don the mantle as campaign manager.

“The only way we can hasten the progress of our province is to elect candidates who will work for real public service and for real development,” he said.

He admitted having made the mistake of supporting and campaigning for one politician who had only his self-interest at heart.

“We should replace him and his kind and bring back people who will unite us, work for peace and development, and who will this province to progress,” he said.

Gov. Anthony Del Rosario said he was running as congressman for district 1 to bridge the two congressional offices and the governor’s office.

He will oppose incumbent Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez.

“We saw how the province suffered when it was deprived of congressional allotment because one congressman is at odds with the other and with provincial officials,” he said.

He said it was no easy decision but the situation in the province necessitates what needs to be done.

The elder del Rosario said that the regional party is fielding Atty. Joey Millan for vice-governor to complete a slate.

Rep. Antonio “TonyBoy’ Floirendo has already filed his COC for reelection.

The provincial slate included for district 1 board members:  Alfredo de Veyra, Jane Ang, Meliton Lemos, Tristan Royce Aala;

For district 2: Ely Dacalus, Janet Gavina, Daniel Liu, Janet Tanong, Roy Catalan.

For Panabo City: James Gamao for mayor and Janrey Gavina for vice mayor

For Carmen: Virginia Perandos for mayor and Leyneo Soriano for vice mayor.

For Dujali: Tata Moral-Romano for mayor and Melfar Aguiluz, for vice mayor.

Santo Tomas: Daniel Batosalem, Jr. for mayor and Eric Estela for vice mayor.

For Igacos: Orlando Amit for mayor and Daniel Gervacio for vice mayor.

For Talaingod: Lina Libayao for mayor and Francisco Gipulla, Jr. for vice mayor

For Kapalong: Romeo Estrada for mayor and Gaspar Balinggao for vice mayor

For San Isidro: Jojo Acla for mayor and Jacinto Café for vice mayor

For Asuncion:  Eufracio Dayaday, Jr. for mayor and Joey Carmello for vice mayor

For New Corella: Rhodora Alcoran for mayor and Joel Jumawan for vice mayor

For Tagum City: Geterito Gementiza for mayor and Agripino Coquilla, Jr. for vice mayor.

Gov. del Rosario said once united anew, the province can further work to being the No. 1 province in the Philippines by infusing more development and improving basis services.
