The chief of the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) appealed to the public to be patient and cooperate with authorities, especially that long lines are expected on October 31 to November 3 due to stricter inspection.
“This is for the safety and security of us all,” said Aisa Usop, manager of the DCOTT.
Usop assured commuters that safety and security will be its top priorities on All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day this November 1 and 2 respectively.
“This meant that security measures will be tighter and strengthened at the bus terminal, through the help of the Davao City Police and the Task Force Davao,” she said.
Usop said that aside from our men in uniform stationed at the terminal, their walk-through machines and CCTV cameras are fully functional and connected directly to the Public Safety and Security Command Center.
She added that commuters are free to send complaints and comments to their administration division located inside the DCOTT.
Aside from security, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) conducted bus inspections on Monday to ensure that buses are roadworthy and have valid franchises.
According to Usop, the LTFRB has checked various buses to ensure that their units are in good condition like its brakes, wheels, lights and other parts.
