The new SGV & Co. Davao and General Santos Partner-In-charge was officially introduced during the cocktail reception held at SGV & Co. office in Damosa, Davao City last Wednesday.
Jose Raoul J. Balisalisa, was surrounded with friends, SGV Alumni, SGV clients and co-workers welcomed him as the new partner-in-charge.
Balisalisa was a cum laude when he graduated Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Ateneo de Davao University. He completed the Management Development Program of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM).
He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).
He was in the company for 16 years. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to his mentors who taught and helped him become the person he is today and his family for the support they gave him.
“I will continue the servicing of the existing clients in Davao and we actually expect a lot of progress in these area, so we wanted to partner with business people here so we would be growing with them and we will be able to provide our resources to the businesses here in Davao,” he said.
Both offices of SGV in Davao and General Santos City wish to partner with businesses because both cities are progressing.
He said that in Davao City, agriculture is main industry but he is now seeing new businesses emerge such as real estate, manufacturing and export oriented companies. With the presence of Philippine Economic Zone Authority, it entices the foreign businessman or investors build their businesses here in the city.
“We are also seeing a lot of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies here in the city and we want to partner with them as well,” he said.
Alvin Pinpin, previous partner-in-charge of Davao and General Santos office said that Balisalisa is from Davao City which makes him knowledgeable about the environment of the business here in the region and he knows the industry well.
“We expect Raoul to bring the firm to greater heights, we have been expanding our resources here and as we know Davao is the center of attention in terms of development in the country so he has a tall order to bring the company in greater heights,” Pinpin said.
SGV & Co. is the Philippines’ largest multidisciplinary professional services firm which offers services in assurance, tax, advisory and transaction. Their Davao City office has close to 200 employees.
