Around 50 free folding beds are now ready for free use by priority passengers at the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal this All Saints Day and Souls’ Day.
Aisa Usop, DCOTT manager, said the items were given to the terminal management last September 4, 2018 by the Office of the President.
“Priority passengers are senior citizens, pregnant women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and parents and guardians carrying toddlers may use the folding beds, according to the guidelines,” said Usop.
Usop said they will limit the number of seats at the terminal to discourage other people from entering inside DCOTT just to sleep.
She added that folding beds are intended only for passenger who sleep overnight in the terminal to catch the morning trips.
“We will ask for a valid Identification Card (ID) if a passenger would like to avail himself of the service,” she said.
Usop also urged passengers to follow the rules of the DCOTT like maintaining order during inspection of bags and ensuring that pets, endangered animals and plants they’ll bring have proper permits from concerned agencies.
To avoid inconvenience for those rushing to their trips, Usop advised passengers not to bring bladed weapons and illegal items, including endangered animals.
