The Davao City Transportation and Traffic Management has appealed to the public to consider and take note of re-routing and traffic schemes in the city’s major cemeteries on All Saints’ and All Souls Days.
DionisoAbude, CTTMO chief officer, said they already placed advisories and signs from the cemeteries to guide motorists and pedestrians.
“We are encouraging the public to follow the rules and regulation or the peaceful and orderly All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day,” said Abude.
The cemeteries included in the scheme were Buhangin Memorial Park, Chinese Cemetery, Davao Memorial Park, San Pedro Cemetery, Forest Lake Cemetery, Orchard Memorial Park, Masonic Cemetery, Wireless Cemetery and Catholic Cemetery.
For Davao Memorial Park, vehicles coming from Quimpo Boulevard-MacArthur Highway junction will not be allowed to turn left to enter the Memorial Park. Instead, vehicles intending to enter the cemetery from Quimpo Boulevard must take either Calamansi Street or University Avenue to exit to MacArthur Highway through Durian Street and proceed to the memorial park.
For the San Pedro Memorial Park, Forest Lake, Orchard Memorial Park, Masonic, Wireless, Catholic Cemetery, CTTMO also said they will implement one-way vehicular traffic from Fr. Selga St. corner F. Torres to Circumferential Road (Sarenas St.) corner Jade St.
Vehicles going to San Pedro Memorial and/or Forest Lake may take Jade St., and turn left to Turquoise St.All vehicles going to the Forest Lake Cemetery may use San Rafael St. (Gold St.), Silver St.-Copper St.
A separate traffic re-routing was also provided for Chinese Cemetery and Buhangin Memorial Park.
All vehicles going to Chinese Cemetery from Bacaca Road may use J.P. Laurel Ave., right turn to Gahol St, right turn to Sarenas Road.
For the Buhangin Memorial Park, the public was advised of a one-way vehicular traffic along the stretch of Cabantian Road from Buhangin Milan to corner Mamay Road.
Vehicles going to the Memorial Park should use C.P. Garcia Highway – corner Milan – BuhanginCabantian Road.
