The 18th Davao City Council approved on third and final reading on Tuesday an amendment to an ordinance shoring up the financial aid for the conservation efforts of the Philippine Eagle Conservation Program Foundation Inc., (PECPFI) from P1million aid to P1.5 million.
The amended ordinance is under the joint committee of finance, ways and means headed by Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang and on rules, privileges, laws and ordinances headed by Councilor Melchor Quitain Jr…
According to Dayanghirang, the amount of financial assistance of the ordinance will be changed from P1 million to P1.5 million to further support and provide assistance to the conservation efforts of the said Foundation
The letter of Dennis J. I. Salvador, Executive Director of PECPFI sent to the Sangguniang Panglungsod, stated that the increase was relative to the assistance given by the City per Annual Budget, Calendar Year 2018.
Based on the joint committee report, City Budget Officer Ermelinda Gallego issued a certification that there is an appropriation under CY 2018 Annual Budget intended for Financial Assistance to the PECPFI.
Meanwhile, The Ms. Edith Roferos, PECPFI representative, manifested that it already received the P1 Million aid for CY 2017 and it is waiting to receive the P 1.5 Million for CY 2018.
