P42M allotted for Pasko Fiesta

The city government of Davao has allocated a total of P42 million for this year’s Pasko Fiesta celebration slated on November 23 until December 30, featuring 28 activities tabled for this festivity.

The Pasko Fiesta sa Davao is a yearly Christmas event in the city spearheaded by the city government in partnership with the private sector.

Gene Rose Tecson, City Tourism Office head, said on Thursday during the Ispeak media forum at the City Hall that in the P42 million, 20 million is allotted for this year’s activities and prizes while the remaining 24million is for the food for the security personnel and staffs who will help in maintaining peace and order during the entire celebration.

She added that several activities have been expanded or new ones added for the 2018 celebration.

Among the event highlights include new actitity such as Pasko Fiesta Salu-Salo at Sta. Ana Wharf, Sayaw sa Pasko and Lamdag Parada, a lightened vehicle parade and Torotot Party.

Pasko Fiesta also aims to light up the whole city during Christmas through various competitions including Banda Dasig, marching band competition, Pasko Daba-Daba, Yugyugan at Tugtugan sa Pasko fiesta.

She added that there will be also activities for children, private sector, Indigenous People (IP), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) and for the senior citizen.

She said that the theme for the decorations in this year’s celebration is “Winter Wonder Land”
