A total of 28 events will be featured for this year’s Pasko Fiesta celebration under the Winter Wonderland concept, compared to the last year’s 22 activities tabled for Pasko Fiesta ‘Candy Land’ theme.
The annual Christmas festivity will formally open on November 23 at the Rizal Park with the ceremonial lighting of Christmas lights in the city hall building.
Generose Tecson, City Tourism Office head, underscored that the city now 75 percent ready for staging the said festivity.
She added that decoration of the city in this year’s theme is leaning towards to snowman, snowflakes, and color patterns are monochromatic from blue to white.
“This year’s celebration is different from last year’s Pasko Fiesta, we allocated bigger prizes in different competitions aligned to the Winter Wonderland concept,” she said
Among the event highlights include new activity such as Pasko Fiesta Salu-Salo at Sta. Ana Wharf, Sayaw sa Pasko and Lamdag Parada, a lightened vehicle parade Torotot Party during the New Year’s Eve and Christmas lantern competition per Barangay.
The city has will also light up the whole city during Christmas through various competitions including Banda Dasig, marching band competition, Pasko Daba-Daba, Yugyugan at Tugtugan sa Pasko fiesta.
The yearly-event also includes Pasko Fiesta Concert with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, Pasko Fiesta Carnival, y, Pasko Pahalipay sa Barangay, Belen Exhibit sa Museo, Pahalipay ni Santa, Kahayag sa Pasko, Pasko Kasadya, Pasko Kumbira sa City Hall, Koro Pasko, Siyam ka Kadlawon and Misa Dabawenyo.
Pasko Hulagway photo contest will start on November 23.
Pasko Fiesta para sa mga Lumad that will run from December 1 to 16, will still be held in the lumad communities in Davao.
On December 18, there will be a year-end Christmas party for the LGBT community.
The annual Pasko Fiesta sa Davao is a yearly Christmas event in the city spearheaded by the city government in partnership with the private sector.
