Student who shot at cop still at large

Elements of Talomo Police station in Davao City are on the manhunt for a high school student who shot at a police officer on Monday at along Seaside Bago Aplaya.

Police officers identified the suspect as one Mark Ocon,who is also known as Raymert E. Carale, 18, reportedly a high school student residing Atlantic Ocean St., Gulf View, Bago Aplaya in Davao City.

According to the witness identified as Angelica P. Monderedondo, the suspect is a member of “Sagrado Gang”.

On Tuesday, Chief Insp. Ronald Lao, station commander of Talomo Police Station, told Edge Davao that the suspect did not go home since the incident and is still at large.

Investigation revealed that at around 9:55 pm, Sr. Police Officer 1 Ferdinand Macion and his buddy PO3 Victorino L Almeron Jr.  were implementing Oplan Bakal Sita in the area.

They spotted a group of people in a drinking session. But when the police officers approached the group, the suspect shot at police officer Macion on his right foot.

The group ran towards the grassy portion of Gulf View and evaded arrest while Macion was brought to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).

Documents are being prepared for the filing of charges against the suspect.
