Two street level drug peddlers were arrested in a buy-bust operation on Monday.
Police identified the suspects as Dennis T. Labuendia, 37, single and resident of B25 L3; and Kenneth Anthony S. Bilad, 26, college student and resident of Phase 2 B23 L28 both in Ciudad Esperanza, Cabantian in Davao City.
The operation was conducted by a team from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Sta. Ana Police Station under the supervision of Chief Insp. Michael Uyanguren and a team of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11 agents.
The police and the PDEA operatives targeted the residence of Labuendia.
The teams were able to recover one piece of rectangular transparent cellophane containing crystalline believed to be shabu (object for sale), one piece P500 bill (buy-bust money) and 21 heat sealed transparent sachet containing crystalline believed to be shabu.
The activity was brought about by the reports of the Barangay Intelligence Network (BIN) of Dacudao Avenue.
The suspects were allegedly responsible for the distribution of illegal drugs in the area.
The operation was a success and is seen to decrease the illegal drug trade in the area.
The suspects and pieces of evidences are in the custody of Sta. Ana Police station for disposition.
A case is being prepared against the suspects for violation of Republic Act 9165 also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
