It’s hard work paid off for Seda Abreeza in the continuous implementation of health and safe protocols after it was recently awarded with Safe Travels Stamp by the Department of Tourism (DOT) in partnership with the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
The WTTC Safe Travels Stamp is the world’s first safety and hygiene stamp for travelers to recognize governments and businesses that have adopted global health standardized protocols.
“Kung sino yung may safe travel stamp, pino-post siya sa WTTC so nakikita yan ng buong mundo. Pag bukas na yung Philippines tinitingnan nila kung sino yung pumasa sa WTTC stamp. I am so happy that Seda Abreeza has been awarded and I am sure marami pa kayong hotels in Davao City na papasa at para ma-post natin at makita nila na ready na tayo,” said Tourism Secretary Bernadette Puyat in a virtual presser.
From the 40 establishments recognized nationwide, Seda Abreeza is currently the sole recipient of the said award in Davao Region.
“It was awarded by DOT Secretary Puyat. The award shows that we have complied with health and sanitation standards set by DOT, and will give confidence to travelers to have a safe stay with us,” Ken Kapulong, hotel manager of Seda Abreeza, told Edge Davao.
Kapulong added that the award serves as a reminder for the management of Seda Abreeza to always implement the health protocols for the safety of the guests and employees.
The hotel took serious steps to mitigate risks to both employees and guests by promoting safe staycation to attract visitors. With the guests’ safety as top-priority, everywhere in the hotel, from the public areas and guestrooms, safety protocols are in place to help keep the guests safe whenever they visit.
“And we hope more establishments in Davao Region will follow suit, so that the more travelers will recognize the region as a safe destination,” Kapulong said.
Meanwhile, Puyat said it is best to continue to receive awards to make Davao Region and the Philippines as first choice of the travelers when travel restrictions are lifted.
“In Davao, ang gaganda ng mga dive spots ninyo, we were quite surprise that second year in a row nanalo tayo Philippine’s best dive destination kasi ibig sabihin top of mind talaga tayo at naghihintay na lang sila (travelers) na ma-lift ang travel restriction. Tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang pag receive ng mga awards ng Pilipinas. May mga tourism attaches tayo all over the world and we are spreading the world lahat ng health and safety protocols ay nandito,” Puyat said.
