Expecting mammoth crowds on the city’s thoroughfares leading to cemeteries, the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) will maximize its personnel for Holy Week deployment, according to an official.
Leonardo Pamplona, acting division head of the traffic management of CTTMO, on Wednesday said that the department will be deploying 300 personnel near churches this Holy Week.
“Ang CTMMO will maximize all our personnel to deploy in every church this Holy Week, especially in Catholic churches. We understand na pag Holy Week grabe ang convergence sa mga tao including sakyanan that is why we adjusted our deployment sa among personnel or majority of our personnel will be deployed sa kasimbahanan,” Pamplona said during the joint I-Speak and AFP-PNP Press Corps media briefing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday.
He said the 300 personned will be deployed in Panacan, Bunawan, Calinan, Mintal, and Toril.
“Last Friday we had a meeting with PSSO where we discussed the preparation of the security and deployment of the safety cluster. During that meeting, we also had a discussion with Father Bong Dublan under the Archdiocese of Davao and we had lateral coordination. We directed our respective supervisors and field inspectors to coordinate in every parish priest for their activities this Holy Week,” Pamplona said.
Pamplona said there will be road closures in some areas especially near the churches that will stage activities on Easter Sunday.
“During Holy Week it is expected nga naay road closures labi na aning mga dagko na simbahan. As early they will put up para sa Easter Sunday celebration, “sugat”,” he said.
