Former Executive Secretary of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Atty. Vic Rodriguez, said on Thursday that the President may have just confirmed the move to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte when he expressed no support for any impeachment plans against Duterte.

According to Marcos, an impeachment plan would not benefit the lives of Filipinos.

“Ako’y nagpapasalamat dahil kinumpirma lamang niya (Marcos) na talagang merong galaw at pwersahang tanggalin si Vice President Inday Sara Duterte bilang pangalawang pangulo,” Rodriguez told the Davao media in a press conference in Davao City.

Following the President’s opposition to the said impeachment plans, Rodriguez urged the Filipinos to show support to the vice president by joining in the peace rally happening in Edsa and Veterans Memorial Medical Center.

House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability vice chairman Rep. Jefferson ‘Jay’ Khonghun denied that there are talks on impeachment complaint filing among the majority bloc. He also said they cannot prevent others, including House members, from filing an impeachment complaint against the vice president.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez also reacted to the claims of Malacañang that the vice president’s threat against the life of the President was a national threat.

“It was just an expression of disgust of what has being done to her right at that very moment. Ang paniniwala ko, ang analysis ko doon sa naglabasang video at that very moment eh talagang may clear and present danger sa buhay nung tao (Duterte) at sa buhay ni Atty. Zuleika Lopez. Kaya yung sinabi niyang yun, eh kasi merong clear and present danger sa kanyang buhay at yung sinasabing active threat, it is predicated on a suspensive condition. It is predicated on an event that is yet to happen. Until and unless that event happens doon pa lamang magiging active yan. Kaya lang paano magiging active eh kung yung mismong subject patay na? Hindi na magiging active yan kailanman. But then again there is a subject of investigation I believe handa naman ang ating bise presidente and I believe handa na rin yung kanyang mga abogado na harapin yan,” he said.

The Vice President revealed on Wednesday that two individuals she did not identify warned her to be careful following her pronouncement that she hired someone to kill the President, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez if she gets killed.
