Regional Development Council 11 (RDC 11) co-chair Arturo Milan bared on Friday that the government will be turning over four buildings at the People’s Village socialized housing project in Purok 10, Calinan, Davao City in December this year.

Spearheaded by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DSHUD), the project is under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program (4PH), which is the flagship housing program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Milan said RDC 11 has been monitoring the development of the People’s Village housing project.

“Four buildings will be turned over this December,” Milan said during the Business Matters media forum at Hukad, Ayala Malls Abreeza.

Milan said the four buildings are part of the five-story 14 building People’s Village project, which has a total of 1,400 units or 100 units per building with each unit measuring 28 square meters.

“It’s like a condo. Its mid-rise five-story building. It is condo-type but classified as socialized housing under the 4PH project with a P3,200 monthly amortization. But they are now trying to negotiate for amortization subsidy. They really wanted to make housing affordable,” Milan said.

Milan said the designs are recommended for young couples.

The project is considered not a typical government housing project as this will include mixed-use amenities such as commercial/multi-purpose buildings, parks, playgrounds, tennis fields, basketball courts, and many others.
